So there’s a post in the asexuality tag that you can go find if you want that’s made me a little upset. The thing is, it’s not really about what the post is saying (which is why I’m not responding directly to the author), but rather how the author frames hir argument. Namely: shut up you ignorant…

So I didn’t read the original post that Ace Admiral was talking about very thoroughly, but I find this slightly hilarious because during the summer someone said I couldn’t count as queer or LGBTetc. because I was too academic. This came up because I was using certain queer theory ideas regarding the definition of queer in my argument. In other words, I was told I knew too much queer theory to count as queer, because all of that theory is just academics appropriating queer culture. I’ve also been told that all the theory and such I have regarding asexuality is too academic, too theoretical, too complicated, and so on. I’m somewhat surprised that someone is now saying we aren’t academic enough.
